Sometimes Old-Fashioned Beauty Products Are Best

Pear’s Soap, the Original Tranparent Soap
Some of my favorite beauty products have been around for ages.

My grandmother used to wash her face with Pear’s Soap. And I love it too. It’s been around for more than 200 years. You can usually find it in 99-cent stores. Even in drug stores, it’s only about $3.00. It’s a transparent, glycerin-based soap that has a somewhat medicinal scent of rosemary, cedar and thyme. But it’s gentle on skin. I use it to wash off my eye make-up.

Noxzema’s Original Deep Cleansing Cream was initially created to combat eczema. Hence, the name. Noxzema = no eczema. But women fell in love with it as a daily cleanser. I use it with a wash cloth to cleanse and exfoliate my face. It has a mentholated scent and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and not at all dry.

Give the old-timers a try. You won’t be disappointed.
