Quantum of Solace Trailers

It’s only a couple of weeks until the newest James Bond movie hits the U.S. Theaters on November 14.

I’m looking forward to it. Daniel Craig is badass and the car looks fantastic.

Watch the two trailers and then take the poll. Enjoy.

James Bond is Dead. Long Live James Bond.

Barry Nelson
Actor Barry Nelson died at age 87. He was the first man to play James Bond on screen, in a one-hour live TV adaptation of Casino Royale which aired in 1954.

Casino Royale PosterA veteran of both WWII and the Broadway stage, Nelson was nominated for a Tony award for the 1977 production of The Act, a musical starring Liza Minelli and directed by Martin Scorsese.

Sources differ on his age, some saying he died at age 89, some saying he was born in 1920, which would make him 87.

Whatever his age, I’ve always remembered his interpretation of James Bond, playing him as a casually self-confident American opposite Peter Lorre who, as usual, played the bad guy.

Arab Drifting – A YouTube Phenomenom

I don’t know why I find this entertaining. These guys are lunatics. They don’t care if they run each other over. Arab drifting seems to have become a YouTube phenomenon.

Note the absence of women anywhere in the city.

Drifting is oversteering and keeping the car sideways. That’s an oversimplification, but you get the idea. Competitions, such as Formula D, judge not only speed but also the graceful line a driver takes through corners.

Here’s some footage of the “Drift King” Keiichi Tsuchiya demonstrating his technique.

Oh yeah, and there’s this guy on a bike:
