Cate Blanchett Returns As Elizabeth

Reprising the role that catapulted her to international stardom, Cate Blanchett is back as Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

Nine years ago, the role earned her an Oscar nomination for the film Elizabeth, which centered on the early years of the reign of England’s famous monarch.

This time, Elizabeth: The Golden Age concentrates on the Queen’s relationship with Sir Walter Raleigh, portrayed by Clive Owen and a challenge to her throne by Spain’s King Philip II.

The costumes are magnificent.
