I borrowed this meme from Michelle at bleeding espresso. I didn’t include all of the questions. You can see the complete list over at her blog. I encourage you to answer these questions, too. It’s a nice little retrospective of the year.
What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? Grew tomatoes, crocheted a scarf, made chocolate truffles, spun out on a race track.
Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions and will you make more for next year? Last year’s resolutions were to were more skirts, wear cuter shoes, and learn Italian. I did wear a lot of cute shoes and wore a skirt more often but I didn’t get very far with my Italian lessons. Perhaps I need an Italian boyfriend?
What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? An Italian boyfriend.
What was your biggest achievement of the year? I made a pretty good start on two novels that I am writing. When I run out of juice on one, I pick up the other, and vice versa.
What was the best thing you bought? My Ferragamo icon purse and my Macbook.
What did you get really, really excited about? My writing projects.
What do you wish you’d done more of? Took time off.
What do you wish you’d done less of? Worried.
How did you spend Christmas? With family.
Did you fall in love in 2008? Yes, with my cousin’s two children, age 2 and 4.
What was your favorite TV program? Gossip Girl. XOXO.
What was the best book you read? I’ve been reading a lot of Young Adult fiction this year. Some of the best were Uglies/Pretties/Specials and Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld, A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb, and I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter.
What was your greatest musical discovery? The Fratellis.
What did you want and get? Lots of ideas.
What did you want and not get? Younger.
What was your favorite film of this year? Didn’t see many. I kinda liked The Jane Austen Book Club.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Lots of scarves.
What kept you sane? Wine, work and meditation.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Katie Holmes. I’m not a huge fan but her haircuts have gotten me more than 200,000 page views. Runner up for blog traffic: French actress Audrey Tautou, who will be playing in a movie about Coco Chanel.
Who did you miss? My family on the East coast.
Who was the best new person you met? My blog friends, although I guess we haven’t technically met.
