Tweens, the new term for kids between 9 and 12 years old, are influencing the entertainment industry like never before. Young stars are storming the Forbes Top Celebrity list this year.
The Forbes list factors in a celebrity’s earnings, google hits, press mentions, magazine covers and other statistics.
At the top of the list were Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods and Angelina Jolie, but the young celebs made a stronger than ever showing.
Those included were:
Miley Cyrus #35
The 15-year-old Hannah Montana television star made the list because of her sold-out 70-date concert tour.
She also sold millions of CDs, signed a book deal and filmed a movie based on her Disney character.
Daniel Radcliffe #64
The 18-year-old Harry Potter movie star signed a $50 million contract to continue his wizard role in the remaining film installments of the Harry Potter series.
He also starred in a BBC TV movie, My Boy Jack, about Rudyard Kipling’s son, set during World War I, and appeared nude in the Broadway production of Equus.
Jonas Brothers #89
The rock star brothers, ages 15 to 20, brought home $9 million from tour dates.
They also racked up another $3 million in CD sales, merchandising and television deals.
Zac Efron #92
The 20-year-old High School Musical star and heartthrob, also appeared last summer in Hairspray.
He has three movies coming soon: Seventeen Again, Me and Orson Welles, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Ashley Tisdale #94
The 23-year-old High School Musical star, will star in the upcoming High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
She also does voiceover work for the Disney Channel’s animated series Phineas and Ferb, and endorses the clothing line Red by Marc Ecko.
